President's Message

November 2008

Greetings and Happy Halloween! This time of year offers a chance to dress up in a costume and be someone else for an evening. Do you have your costume yet? Do you know what you want to be? Incidentally, the same opportunity was given to some of our members and non-members thru participation in a recent chapter survey. The question posed was “If you were the king or queen of CSI for a day, what would you do differently?” There were several other questions that were just as thought provoking. We will be sharing these results with our membership and discussing some of these ideas with you, for the future.

We have an excellent social event scheduled for November 14 at Churchill Downs. Please consider showing support for our chapter by attending this event. Bring a prospective member, spouse, colleague, or friend. ALL are welcome! There will be several CSI welcome! There will be several CSI members in attendance from other neighboring chapters. If you cannot attend this social event, then please mark your calendars for our Holiday Party. This is another great opportunity to bring a spouse and let them meet other members in our organization.

Amanda Schoonover, Program Chair, has been extremely busy putting together programs and overseeing several other committees as a director. She is currently working on another nationally recognized speaker for our March meeting. Those of you who attended last year will remember an all day seminar that brought the lively, energetic, and well informed, Dr. Joe Lstiburek to town. We are looking for someone of that caliper who can provide us with another fantastic program for March. If you know of someone in your industry that you feel could deliver then please let Amanda know.

The CSI national convention will be Junbe 17-19 in INDIANAPOLIS. This is a very short drive for a great investment of your career. The convention offers plenty of opportunities for all trades. There will also be opportunities for officer and committee training. The exhibits are great, but the education is even better. If you have never been to a CSI convention, don’t pass this up.

In closing, we will have our first LUNCH meeting in longer than anyone can remember. Several people have requested this. We are looking forward to a great turnout. Our program this month will be on Metal Roofs. Please see the details within. I hope to see you at a meeting soon!
Best Regards,
