President's Message

January 2012

Happy New 2012 New Year to you! It is my hope that this is a great year for you and your family and that you can make choices to make it the best, despite what things may look like in the marketplace and the economy. I believe this year will be a road of recovery for everyone.

The joint AIA CSI Holiday Party was on December 12th. It was so much fun! The venue, the people, the spouses, the food, the awards and the reflection on 2011 including the efforts of these organizations making a difference in the lives of Habitat for Humanity program recipients. Really great work. Way to go on your sponsorships and your participation

Coming up on January 12th is the anticipated joint meeting with NAWIC Louisville Chapter! They have had a very strong chapter with a growing membership! The program will be provided by Ed Krebs with K. Norman Berry Associates Architects will be presenting what is to come on the J.B. Speed Art Museum Project. This meeting is a dinner meeting held at the Builders Exchange. RSVP to Pat Sloan! If you forget to RSVP, go anyway. J

Make your reservation for February 9th! Thanks to Sandy Moore Auckerman, KFC is putting together a lunch program to learn about how a large corporation decides and specs materials. They will use examples from their newest design and prototype. They will be providing their conference room, parking and lunch for everyone!

Mark your calendar and be ready for the AIA CSI Trade Fair coming up on February 21st! Plan to exhibit, attend, sponsor. Many opportunities to be involved are still available. Go to www.aiacsitradefair.org for more information or contact Pat Sloan directly.

We have had new members sign up, please WELCOME these new members and our guests! Let’s let them know how CSI has made us more successful! CSI Louisville Chapter is in the top three chapters in the nation for gaining new members month to month! Great job John Oliva, Kathy Davis and Pat Sloan for all of your efforts!

Thanks again for all of your notes and encouragements to me. I am still in chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery in a few weeks, then to return to treatments. I hope to see you at the January meeting!
